Just a few days before the presidential election at the club, rumours began to grow claiming that Daniel Passarella is a long time fan of arch-rivals Boca Juniors. This could prevent him from running for River Plate’s presidentcy.
In several interviews, Passarella confirmed that he, and most of his family, were Boca Juniors’ supporters. He even attended trials to play there, but after being rejected, he went straight to River Plate and history from that point is far known: he became an icon of the club and won a large number of titles both as a player and as a manager.
With the elections around the corner we cannot consider this rumors to be random, but River fans know that the ‘Kaiser’ has always given all he got for the club and will probably climb past this obstacle in his path to become River’s president.
